#Syria: Ghouta Chemical Massacre
Did you know that 2 days ago (Thursday 21/08) was the first anniversary of ASSad regime’s chemical weapons attack near Damascus, which killed silently up to 1,457 people most of them were children and women with hundreds more subsequently dying of the effects. (Videos below)
The death toll quickly rose, as reports poured in from not one but multiple sites in East Ghouta as well as Moadamiya in West Ghouta. The gases, delivered by the regime’s Volcano and Soviet-made 140-mm rockets, were not just poison but those of deadly chemical toxins such as Sarin.
ASSad should be held accountable for this Crime Against Humanity, since the prohibition of the use of chemical weapons mentioned in the Chemical Weapons Convention applies in all circumstances, including in non-international armed conflicts (Syrian Case). Yes, I do agree with what the Syrian Opposition Coalition said; “the international community must send a strong message to ASSad, and indeed all dictators, that terrorizing their populations will not pass unchecked, and that it is just a matter of time before those responsible for war crimes and crimes against humanity are brought to justice!”
The 1st video below shows children killed in the East Ghouta area from “poison gases”. Estimates were that about 100 people had perished.
The 2nd video shows as well a young man suffering from serious breathing problems before his death, he froths from the mouth, a medical condition associated with exposure to nerve agents such as Sarin.
